Elder Moon – Esbat Ritual
Adept Dawn: We call the watch tower of the East and ask Auriel to help protect this circle and empower the work within our circle.
We call the watchtower of the South and inviting Gabriel to protect the circle and empower our work within the circle.
We call Raphael for the West and to protect the western part of the circle and empower our work within the circle
We call Michael to the watchtower of the North to protect the North part of the circle and also empower our work within the circle.
I will now draw the circle by starting in the East and point at the ground first and
walk clockwise saying I close this circle with Earth so that no harm may come to anyone inside or outside of this circle. I would then point to the ceiling and say I close this circle with Air so that no harm may come to anyone inside this circle, then I would out stretch arm at shoulder level and invoke Fire by saying I close this circle with Fire so that no harm may come to anyone inside or outside of this circle. Finally, I would say what is above is below what is east is also west and what is north is south we are now enclosed in an orb of light and empowered to do our work within the circle. I will then walk the circle one more time touching each of the elements starting with a Feather to represent the East and Air, a Candle to represent the South and Fire, a Bowl of Water to represent the West and Water and then Earth in the North we welcome and thank you for helping us with this circle.
We would welcome the goddess (Isis) and the god (Odin) to the circle and thanking them for attending and helping us with our work.

I would then raise my arms over my head and slowly bringing them down and point to the ground with open hands toward the earth to release the rest of the energy.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Zodiac candle– A candle representing ‘your intent in your astrological house’ (please refer to the chart below) Note: if you do not have a colour representing your intent in the candle please just inscribe on the candle the symbol of your zodiac
Orange candle– to represent change
Dark or black candle– to protect against and send away ill luck
Essential oil of your choice: such as rosemary, thyme, frankincense. Note: if you don’t have any essential oils you can use olive oil.
Incense of your choice- to burn before, during and after the ritual. Please light this while you are preparing your sacred space to neutralize the energy.
Note: Pillar candles or smaller round candles are required in order to allow them to burn within a reasonable time. The candles need to burn all the way. If there is any wax left, please ensure you give this to the Great Mother by placing in the earth. (Natural candle wax is best for this).
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Please refer to the chart that I have compiled indicating the corresponding colours and the intent for your particular Zodiac. Please take the time to go through this useful chart. It will be of great assistance for future reference.

The Witches’ Alchemy is powerful indeed.
Please use this time to master the frequency of tuning into your spiritual practice to instigate the changes necessary for your development as a magical practitioner.
During the Solstice that is coming up in the next week or so, the veil will be thin, allowing better communication between the worlds. Doing this work during this full moon will allow your frequency to better shift to the energies of the Great Mother and Father.
Your Sacred Space:
Take care to prepare your sacred space before the ritual, if you are unable to burn incense, please use the power of intention such as a white light showering you and your surroundings. Ensure that you have all that you need at hand. The more prepared you are, the more effective the spell. Go through the check list of things that you need above, do this just before the ritual begins.
You can look in your astrological house and decorate your space with the colours representing the intent that you would like to illuminate and instigate change.
Decorate your altar with sprigs of Rosemary for extra protection.
The Ritual Explained:
Tonight we will be honoring the Great Goddess of the Strawberry (June) full moon. Elementally the strawberry is linked to water and connected with Venus, Freya and Aphrodite making it appropriate for out transformation.
MONDAY is the day of the MOON- this will increase the energy of the spell work for the Full Moon Ritual.
The moon is positioned at 25 Degrees in Sagittarius. This brings a dynamic and expanding approach to our spiritual practice in our lives helping us to propel ourselves forward.
Ruled by Jupiter this energy of change and expansion is magnified, so it’s a wonderful time to make the most of it.
Stationary Neptune will become retrograde after this time magnifying the planets power. This makes it a wonderful time to concentrate on a devotion greater than yourself.

Drawing down the Moon
Drawing down the Moon (also known as drawing down the Goddess) is a central ritual in many contemporary Wiccan traditions. During the ritual, a coven’s High Priestess enters a trance and requests that the Goddess or Triple Goddess, symbolized by the Moon, enter her body and speak through her. The High Priestess may be aided by the High Priest, who invokes the spirit of the Goddess. During her trance, the Goddess speaks through the High Priestess.
The name most likely comes from a depiction of two women and the moon on an ancient Greek vase, believed to date from the second century BCE.
In classical times of ancient Greece, ancient Thessalian witches were believed to control the moon, according to the tract: “If I command the moon, it will come down; and if I wish to withhold the day, night will linger over my head; and again, if I wish to embark on the sea, I need no ship, and if I wish to fly through the air, I am free from my weight.”
The Orphic hymn to Selene (Moon)
One of these songs is the Orphic Hymn to the goddess Selene, namely the Moon. The text could be also considered as a spell one could address to the Blood Moon.
“Hear, Goddess queen, diffusing silver light, bull-horn’d and wand’ring thro’ the gloom of Night.
With stars surrounded, and with circuit wide Night’s torch extending, thro’ the heav’ns you ride:
Female and Male with borrow’d rays you shine, and now full-orb’d, now tending to decline.

Litha in Australia
Midsummer or Litha (21st & 22nd December)
Midsummer, also known as Litha, is the time of the year when the days are longest and the nights shortest. The colors of the season are red and gold, representing heat and ripe fruit, and fruit is eaten in thanks.
In Australia the Sturt Desert Pea is a sacred flower of this time. Litha falls in the dry stifling heat of summer in the southern part of our land, but in the north, Litha falls in the hot, wet season, and represents fruitfulness.
Due to fire restrictions in Australia throughout summer, celebrations for this Sabbat tend to be quite different from those those throughout the rest of the year. No candles can be lit, no cauldrons burned, and no open flames are allowed throughout much of the country.
This means that we seek other ways of marking the quarters. One method is to make staffs for the Quarter Priest/esses to hold and brandish as the Elements are called in. Light sources include battery-operated torches that can be covered in colored cellophane to produce different colored light applicable to the various Elements. The cauldron can be replaced with a glass bowl of water, filled with rosewater and seashells, symbolising the importance of water to Australian Witches at this time. Garlands for our hair, wreaths to carry and use in ritual, and light, casual clothing are all a part of Midsummer celebrations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The diagrams below will give you a brief idea of what we will be concentrating on when each chakra is indicated during the ritual. If you are using the corresponding crystals below, they can be used to cleanse and activate the Chakras at any time, as needed. They will be charged and activated by the Lunar energy on the evening.
In the ritual tonight, by opening and closing our sacred space we will be applying that same energy to our Chakras. When Chakras are open, it is equally important to close them. This is to maintain their integrity as so they support our entire energy system.

CEREMONY
If you have chosen a crystal corresponding to each Chakra please remember to hold it to the chakra as we go through the system …..
We will be spending one minute energising each Chakra. This process is important and should not be rushed.
Now begin to relax your body and clear your mind. Feel the magic coming from the moon (Selene) and notice a tingling sensation within.
Visualize the energy from each of your seven Chakras floating into Selene and becoming brighter in colour.
Next, beginning with your Root chakra visualize a red energy leaving Selene and reconnecting to your spine. You are now experiencing a greater sense of feeling balanced and grounded.
Turn your focus to your Sacral Chakra and visualize an orange energy flowing from Selene and circling around your navel. You are feeling limitless creativity and confidence.
Now, at your Solar plexus begin to visualize the yellow energy flowing from Selene to your stomach, filling you up with empowerment and strength.
As the colours continue to move and transform from Selene concentrate on your Heart Chakra. Visualize a loving green energy flowing from Selene to your heart. As it penetrates your heart, you begin to feel love, happiness, joy and peace.
Now moving up to your Throat Chakra, begin to visualize a blue energy leaving Selene and directly connecting to your throat. You begin to feel expressive, free, and all of your words flow with ease.
With your attention at your Third Eye chakra, visualize an indigo energy exiting Selene and entering the area of your third eye. You begin to unfold new ideas, new thoughts, and become awakened and in tune to your psychic abilities.
You have now reached your Crown Chakra. Begin to visualize a purple energy flowing from Selene to the crown of your head. As you connect to your higher self or higher power, you are feeling inspired and a newness of endless possibilities.
Take a deep breath in and slowly exhale. Visualize each chakra being filled with the light and energy from Selene, filling you with health, balance and vigor.
Thank The Great Goddess Selene for the cleansing and releasing of negativity, and for filling your soul with new beginnings and fresh perspectives.

Full Moon Gathering- Letting Go: 28th June 2018

WHERE:
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- 1 small to medium candle, any colour will do. If you have natural bees wax that is wonderful.
- Matches or lighter for lighting candle
- 1 clear glass of water preferably purified or natural spring or mineral
- A piece of paper the size of your hand
- A pen (I suggest a pen that you could reserve for such occasions by consecrating it, some even prefer to use Magickal ink, if you are interested please refer to consecrating your tools on CL web site).
- A fire proof container– Just remember if you are doing it indoors to set a safe space around you where there is no flammable things nearby.
- Finally– preparation is everything- ensure you have your intentions to let go and your mantra to begin your transformation.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
We will use the elements of:
Fire– to burn away the old, this will be done by burning the piece of paper with what needs to be released after we have written on it.
Note– Please remember NOT to burn anything out of spite. A calm, thoughtful and considered burning is much more powerful and effective.
Water– releasing the old will make way for the new. We will energise the water with our new intentions with the human consciousness as this effects the molecular structure of water.
The theme is- Letting go:
I will merely mention some suggestions below, just choose one only for this purpose, and make sure you resonate with whatever you choose. Remember this letting go needs to be tailored to you specifically.
- Fear of change
- resisting divine will
- searching externally for answers rather than going within
- Releasing an energy attachment such as a job, relationship or even a plan
- Believing that you are not good enough
- Worry about money
- Childhood wounds
- Attachment to material things
- attachment to others people’s emotions
- Fear of sharing
- Fear of disappointing
- Fear of letting go
And the list goes on. If there is not one that you resonate with body and soul then you need to search yourself. Just make sure you look within first. Take a moment to consider what it really is you want to release from your life.
Time to receive and transform using a Magickal mantra:
A Magickal mantra is just like spell words, words of intention, a sacred message or text. For our purpose, it is one that will create an energy to release the old and allow the emergence of the new. This will be used alongside while you are charging your water with the intention.
Some example can be…..
“I am free from my past
I let go of attachment
I openly accept life change”.
or
I am whole, perfect, strong, loving harmonious and happy
or
I stay connected to and are guided by my inner source
or
I attract Joy, love and abundance
I encourage you to make your own mantra. The more personalised you create this the more effective it will be for you. You are more than welcome to use the one of the examples above.
Your sacred space:
Take care to prepare your sacred space before the ritual, if you are unable to burn incense, please use the power of intention such as a white light showering you and your surroundings. Ensure that you have all that you need at hand. The more prepared you are, the more effective the spell. Go through the check list of things that you need above, do this just before the ritual begins.
THE RITUAL EXPLAINED
Tonight we will be honoring the Great Goddess of the Strawberry (June) full moon. Elementally the strawberry is linked to water and connected with Venus, Freya and Aphrodite making it appropriate for out transformation.
This full moon is dominated by a powerful conjunction retrograde. All this means is that 2 weeks before the full mean feelings of sadness, fear, guilt, restrictions or inhibitions will be magnified. On the positive aspect, the moon will also be in conjunct with a star that gives resourcefulness and initiative bringing forth wonderful opportunities for change and willingness to break free.
This is also a wonderful time to use your increased emotional strength and intuition to overcome relationship challenges.
NOW LET THE RITUAL BEGIN
Casting the circle:

I call Upon the Guardians of spirit to protect us from above and below. As is above so is below, as is below so is above.
Allow us to see beyond the veil- to the world of effects, of causes and meaning, and of beauty and power.
Protect us Great Mother Selene and Sun God Apollo for all gathered here and those afar who are unable to be with us. Allow no negative energy to touch us, to harm us and that nothing we call upon will harm us and others.
We come together in perfect love and perfect trust.

CEREMONY
Fire: To burn away the old
We will now write down what it is we want to let go:
- Light your candle
Type done once finished
- Take your paper and your pen and please write what it is you want to let go. If you have not prepared for this, refer to the list given for a trigger point. Remember to only choose one. It is only one thing we are letting go for this ceremony.
- When you finish writing, loosely fold the paper twice.

- While you are burning the paper with the light of your candle- now say:
“With the light of the candle I invoke the element of fire and I let go.
I feel the flames eating up and rendering the old.
I release you
I am done
Old energy be gone!!”
After saying this – state what you want to release, to let go, to cease, and send the unwanted energy to the Great Mother Earth to be disposed.
For 2 minutes-Begin to visualise The Great Mother churning and transform the negativity into renewable energy!

Water: To bring in the new
We will now charge our glass of water with the intention to receive and transform
- Take your glass of water in both hands,
- Ensuring your fingers wrap around the glass. Try not to allow your fingertips to touch each other.
- Gaze into the water and now say:
“To all the Gods of the streams, the rives, the creeks, oceans and all other natural waterways,
I invoke the element of water to bring me purification, harmony and cleansing. Allow me to transform my life for the greatest good.
So Mote it Be!”
- Now speak your affirmation- Your Magickal mantra and visualise the end result.
- We are going to repeat this for 5 minutes.
- Use focus and pure intention of what you wish to communicate
- Once you have finished charging your water with your Magickal mantra drink it and

A serenity prayer
May the God and Goddess Grant me
The power of Fire,
for the energy and courage to change the things I can.
The power of Water,
to accept with ease and grace what I cannot change.
The power of Air,
for the ability to know the difference.
