W.Q.W. – My Own Recipe for Step By Step Health Elixir – Cough Syrup By The Silver Sage Witch
Merry Meet, my Silver Sage Family!
You’ll never guess what happened, so I’m gonna tell ya! Well, ya see, it was almost morning and the blue, gray light which was tinted with a tiny bit of honey-colored sunshine was beginning to peek through the big picture window in ma bedroom. It was so quiet that I could slightly hear the little birdies outside, taking their morning birdie baths in the pans of water that we’ve provided for them…along with a delicious birdie buffet chock full of an astounding array of oats, wholewheat bread, and a plentitude of different nuts and seeds. Suddenly, my phone rang, “Emergency emergency, pick up now,” it blasted out to me!
Shaken from the happy visions of birdies bathing, I quickly answered the phone. “I’m sick, can you help me please,” came from the other end of the phone. My patient told me what was wrong and then hung up. Dashing out of bed, I ran to my laboratory and grabbed my special Health Elixir that I always keep bottled for such emergencies and tied it to my pet Dragon, Drakkos’ leg. He looked at me and blinked as he asked sleepily, “Where’s the emergency this time,” and then after getting his instructions, flew off on his mission 😉
In today’s episode of W.Q.W., we’re gonna be checking out my recipe for how to make (step by step), my Health Elixir – Cough Syrup! Ok, ok, so I did get a bit wild and crazy, but hey, laughter is most excellent for the soul! Be sure to watch till the end and have the best laugh you’ve had all week.

The 4th Pentacle of mercury- Seal of Solomon
Continuing from the previous post of aligning with Universal Powers for effective magickal practices…….
In this post I will be discussing the 7th of the Sacred Seven (in no particular order) that I have been mentioning in the previous posts.
Here I will be talking about the final planet of the sacred seven and not in that order, the planet Mercury. Ruling over Gemini and Virgo it is the planet that influences the intellect and of communication and therefore the element of air.
Mercury the planet is androgynous and neutral, it is neither masculine nor feminine, neither positive nor negative, taking on the qualities of whatever aspects it comes into contact with.

The God
In the Ancient Roman World Mercury was the equivalent of the Greek God Hermes. The swift-footed messenger God traversed between the upper and lower worlds and his origins can be traced back as far as 13th– 15th Century BCE.
The many associations of Mercury include that of fertility, communication that include writing, messengers, trade, luck, and thievery. He was the patron saint of merchants, business people that were involved in all types of trade. The staff of Hermes, the Kerykeion is recognized as a symbol of trade and commerce and not that of medicine.
As the God of Medicine Aesculapius and His Rod is attributed to the arts of health and healing.
In the ancient Egyptian world he was connected to Thoth that is also connected with communication and responsible for writing the Emerald Tablet.

Astrology
Due to Mercury’s speedy elliptical orbit, Mercury often appears to be going backwards, with frequent retrograde motions of about 3-4 every year. The good news is that these retrogrades are short lived, the bad news is that when they are in that motion they can at times wreak havoc in your life. Caution in signing contracts, breakdown in communication, avoid surgery, avoid travel, heightened anger, frustration, anxiety and of course the list of all your insecurities goes on. Now the majority of the time such retrogrades go unnoticed, that is until something happens in your life, then there is always Mercury retrograde if it does.
Spell Against Mercury Retrograde
If you are familiar with spell work you can try this to draw the positive aspects of Mercury during its retrograde. It encourages harmony, balance, protection and healing is such tumultuous times.
Spell work-
- Purple candle
- Anointed with frankincense
- Surround with your choice of crystals and herbs from the magickal correspondences above
- Light the candle and say:
‘My mind is a fortress, backwards Mercury, shall cause no deceit, nor damage. The light and stones shall save me’.
- When the candle has burned all the way down, and extinguished itself, take the stones, place them in a mojo bag, and carry with you as long as Mercury stays in retrograde.
Orphic Hymn
Below is a beautiful hymn or prayer to the great God Mercury- Hermes. Use this if you want to invoke the energy of Mercury- Hermes, use the planetary magickal correspondences for extra guidance and remember as with any spell work to understand, observe and respect the energies that you are working and drawing from and with.
Invocation/ Prayer to Mercury- Hermes

Crystals for the Beginner Witch
Witches I thought it would be a great idea to post today on what crystals that is good to use for the beginner witch. When I started out on my journey in witchcraft I started looking at what crystals I could you and I found it hard to find the information therefore that is why I choose to post this today to help my fellow witches.
List of crystals that every witch should have in their witch toolbox…
Hematite: this is good to use for grounding, protection, and scrying
Rose Quartz: this is good for promoting love and helps fight anxiety and depression.
Clear Quartz: this is good for protection, healing, and clarity.
Selenite: Prevents bad dreams and great for clarity.
Amethyst: Used for protection and helps to rebut effects you don’t want.
These stones will help every witch out there in everyday life and for use during rituals or really anything and everything in your life.
Ametrine
Ametrine, also known as trystine or by its trade name as bolivianite, is a naturally occurring variety of quartz. It is a mixture of amethyst and citrine with zones of purple and yellow or orange. Almost all commercially available ametrine is mined only in Bolivia.
The colour of the zones visible within ametrine are due to differing oxidation states of iron within the crystal. The different oxidation states occur due to there being a temperature gradient across the crystal during its formation.
