Wonderful things happened when I was invited for a social and spiritual circle weekend retreat with five of my Pagan sisters.
In my last article, I talked about having my gender reassignment surgery two weeks ago. Until that time, I was always a little uncomfortable being invited to women-only gatherings. That changed this weekend.

Alven: water fairies found in ponds in the Netherlands, though they don’t have wings. They can, however, fly by being encased in bubbles and traveling on the winds. Main home is the River Elbe, as it is sacred to them. Small fairies, extremely light and sometimes shift into otters.
Ashrays: water fairies from Scotland that are mistaken for sea ghosts; have white bodies and look like a twenty-year-old human, both male and female. Nocturnal fairies, if sunlight hits them they will melt into a rainbow-colored pond of water.
Avalon: a mythological island in the Arthurian legends. The place where excalibur was forged and given to King Arthur, and also the place where King Arthur was taken after being wounded in a battle. Morgan Le Fay and Vivianne are said to have dwelled on the isle of Avalon.

A little bit about Strega Lori Bruno
On the subject of Italian Witchcraft here is a Magickal Lady with a very colourful history.
I have also posted an article on Aradia earlier on if you are interested in finding out about some of the Strega beliefs. Just go to search on our CL and type Aradia. A beautiful book written in the 1900 century by Godfrey Leyland called Aradia, the Gospel of Witches. Aradia was the daughter of Diana and Lucifer, in Greek History they were the Twins Artemis and her brother Apollo. She was born from the Goddess of the moon and the God of the Sun.

Imbolc is a cross-quarter day midway between the winter solstice (Yule) and the spring equinox (Ostara) and is the celebration of the banishing of winter, the imminent arrival of Spring and the stirring of new life in the earth. Imbolc recognizes the maiden aspect of the triple goddess – the fresh, the young, the naïve, the new – and is strongly connected with the Goddess Brigid. It is associated with and also known as the festivals of Oimelc, Imbolg, Imbolic (Irish), Candlemas (British), Feast of Torches, Lupercalia (Italian/Latin), Brigid’s Day, and Brigantia (Scottish).

Recently, I’ve discovered that there are a handful of people who really dislike non-traditional (eclectic) witchcraft, and want to tell me how wrong I am for following my intuition. My practice and I have both been denigrated and called names. If I were to react to them, it’d eat a lot of my energy and time, and it’s not my mission to interact with haters. I’ve found another way to deal with the trolls. It’s called an “energy flip.”
