A few days ago I was exploring the ocean shore for driftwood that might want to come home with me. It was close to noon and when I got there I noticed the tide was high. Before I started hiking on and around the driftwood I felt my Spirit Guide give me a nudge to check the local tide chart. I discovered another important piece of information, the tide would be coming in for another 30 minutes, so I decided to move back a couple of feet. All of a sudden, I looked to the left and a sneaker wave was quickly approaching me. I can tell you that the Sea Spirits weren’t against taking me to the ocean depths, so I turned and ran to higher ground. A few minutes earlier I had noticed a family farther down the shore. They were teasing the edge of the Sea, laughing, just before getting their feet wet and having a great time. The father and daughter couldn’t see that as they turned away from the ocean to run, a second and third wave were coming . Those two were so much bigger then the first wave. In that moment I knew that they were going to get hit and I was horrified! All I could do was watch a young girl possibly die. The wave hit the dad and the girl with a terrible force. They were no longer in sight. After that I could see the dad stand up, look around with complete fear as he saw his daughter slam against one of the 2000 pound driftwood logs. He dove back into the wave, grabbing his daughter seconds before she was dragged back into the ocean.
I talked to the family afterwards and found out that they were on their way to a memorial and decided to stop for a little fun. I said that I was so glad that his little girl was going to be okay and I was grateful this situation didn’t turn into a second memorial. I tuned to look out at the fierce ocean and thought, you are beautiful, wild and most importantly, you are to be respected. I also discovered the importance of finding out anything and everything before working with an Element. Appreciate your Gift and Work your Craft Intelligently.
I am very grateful for all of you.
Bright and Safe Blessings,
