The pink to deep violet color seen in amethyst is due to the presence of iron. The Chevron amethyst displays the deepest hues of purple. Because purple is associated with the sixth chakra — the “third eye” located between the brows with which we receive intuition — the stone is said to enhance peace of mind, relaxation and self-discovery. This is an excellent stone for shamanic journeying and for inner-self evaluation and evolution. The stone lessens any resistance to helping oneself, particularly as concerns self-awareness.
